Scope of the Conference
The aim of the 7th International MEEP Conference is to bring together key knowledge on biology & reaction cascades, new materials, and biohybrids & surfaces in the field of bio-electrochemistry. The conference has traditionally acted as the place to bring the scientific community together to present the state of the art in, and broad applicability of, bioelectrochemical systems, including the production of value-added chemicals, the upcycling and detoxification of biomass-derived waste streams, and the development of advanced sensing technologies. Special emphasis will also be given on reactor design and scale-up, as well as the sustainability and economic viability of emerging applications.
We welcome oral and poster contributions that describe applications, materials for key components such as electrodes & membranes, and reactors on different technology readiness levels, with the objective of paving the way for new international research collaborations, whilst boosting the momentum of applied bio-electrochemical research. Contributions are therefore encouraged from researchers in the fields of natural sciences and engineering, but also specialists on economic feasibility and life cycle assessment. MEEP 2027 will provide an interdisciplinary platform for sharing knowledge, discussing challenges, and identifying future opportunities in these rapidly evolving fields.
Our Scientific Advisory Board www.i-MEEP.com/SAB plays a critical role in the evaluation of submitted work and structuring of technical program. The Board exercises full scientific independence in all technical matters, ensures high review quality and rigour in the final selection process. All accepted extended abstracts will be made available to registered participants only, for optimal understanding of the oral and poster presentations. If authors wish, their extended abstracts will be published with their own DOI in www.i-MEEP.com/Library. In addition, further scientific publication options are offered (see publication policy).
MEEP 2027 will once again be organised as a hybrid event, enabling both in-person and virtual participation (subject to sufficient demand) from researchers worldwide. While the hybrid format ensures an all-inclusive international participation, in-person attendance in Lucerne offers unique opportunities for networking, collaboration, scientific exchange and first-hand experience of the beautiful scenery Lucerne offers.
