FAQ: Abstract/Paper

  • Does my abstract need to be formatted before I upload it?

Yes, it is very important that all abstracts are correctly formatted prior to upload. Full instructions and sample templates are available for download here:
    https://www.i-meep.com/download
If you would prefer to receive these via e-mail, please send your request to: info@i-MEEP.com

  • Can I change the title of my abstract?

Yes, it is possible to change the title of your abstract. Please send the abstract number from the confirmation e-mail, and the new title to:
    info@i-MEEP.com

  • Can I make other changes to my abstract after it has been uploaded?

Yes, if you would like to make changes you can upload the latest version via the online Author Center. We will always use the most recently uploaded version for evaluation. However, if the changes are minor, it may be better to wait and include them when you submit your extended paper.

  • Can I include additional authors/co-authors?

During the abstract and paper upload process, you can include 3 authors for each submission. Due to space restrictions, only the first 3 authors will be listed in the printed program. However, in the abstract itself, and later the full paper, an unlimited number of authors can be listed. All listed authors will appear in the conference agenda and the online proceedings.

  • Why do I need to submit a full paper once my abstract has been accepted?

After your abstract has been evaluated and accepted, you will be asked to submit a full paper (8 - 10 pages) before the Symposium. This applies to all abstract submissions – both oral and poster – and is outlined in the Call for Papers www.i-MEEP.com/C4P under the heading ‘Abstract Submission.’ The submission of a full paper is mandatory. The reason everyone is required to submit an extended abstract is to ensure the level of information offered to participants at all MEEP events remains at a consistently high level. Out of fairness and respect to all authors who do submit a full paper, we can not make exceptions to this rule.

  • What if I am unable to submit a full paper due to copyright issues?

After your abstract has been evaluated and accepted, you will be asked to submit a full paper (8 - 10 pages). If your work has been published elsewhere, or is due to be published elsewhere, then it is acceptable to submit a slightly shorter paper (3 - 6 pages) with an abridged description of the contents, and pictures or graphs. You should make sure you refer to your publication on the first page of your abstract if you have details of this. You are also very welcome to distribute copies of your publication at the beginning of your session, which will help to generate interest in your work, as well as ensuring an ongoing high level of information exchange during the symposium.

  • I have been awarded a poster presentation instead of the oral place I requested. Why didn’t I get an oral place, and is it still worth me taking part at the upcoming MEEP Symposium?

Places for oral presentations are naturally limited, and assignment of these places is aiming for a balance between Institutes, topics, and countries, whilst adhering to the usual high-quality standards set by MEEP. It is simply not possible for all who request oral presentations to be given a place, no matter how high the quality of the contribution is. Because of the strict quality controls during the evaluation process, poster contributions are highly regarded, as poor-quality contributions will always be rejected. At the MEEP symposium several dedicated poster sessions take place, and the posters are accessible throughout the duration of the conference. Posters are always very well received, and many intense discussions and networking opportunities take place in front of the posters. In previous years authors who were initially disappointed with their poster position later admitted that it offered them the opportunity to connect directly with relevant people on a more personal level than an oral presentation would allow.

  • Are poster contributions recognised and published in the proceedings, and are they eligible for any awards?

All poster contributions are listed in the program, the abstract list, and in the proceedings and published on MEEP - Microbial/Enzymatic Electrochemistry Platform: MEEP Library : European Fuel Cell Forum (i-meep.com).In addition there is a special award for the best MEEP presentation, and all presentation types (both oral and poster) are eligible for this.

  • After submitting my abstract or paper online should I receive a confirmation e-mail?

Yes, an automatic confirmation is always sent after a successful upload. If you did not receive a confirmation e-mail, you should first check in your junk mail and spam folder. If you still can't find a confirmation, please send an email to info@i-MEEP.com so we can check if your upload was successful

  • Can I send you my abstract or paper via e-mail?

We require all submissions to be done online via the Author Center upload feature at; www.i-MEEP.com/Upload Using the upload feature allows you to select the type of presentation (oral or poster), your publication wishes, and the subject category that best describes your work. If you have problems using this feature, please let us know, and we will be happy to help.
